Community Needs From: Gonzaga University

Lion’s Heart Children’s Grief Center is seeking creative and detail-oriented volunteers to support a meaningful activity at our Family Grief Day Camp. During camp, families participate in an art project where they create a poster representing their family using animal images to symbolize each family member.

Volunteers in this role will help prepare materials by collecting magazines and carefully cutting out photographs of animals for families to use during the activity. We are looking for individuals who can gather a variety of realistic animal images (no cartoons or clip art), organize them, and either mail them to us or arrange a time to deliver them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on projects and wants to contribute in a simple but meaningful way. Your support helps create a thoughtful experience that encourages connection, expression, and healing for grieving families.

Lion’s Heart Children’s Grief Center is seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to support our mission of providing grief support to children and families in our community. Volunteers may serve in a variety of roles based on their interests, skills, and availability.

Opportunities may include assisting with special events, supporting day camp activities and breakout groups, helping with administrative tasks, representing Lion’s Heart at community outreach events, assisting with social media, or contributing to fundraising and grant support efforts.

This role is ideal for individuals who are dependable, caring, and passionate about making a meaningful difference. Whether working directly with families or behind the scenes, each volunteer plays an important part in ensuring no child has to navigate grief alone. Clinical Volunteer- facilitates breakout sessions at family grief day camp (special training provided prior)

Event Volunteer- attend and assist at events, especially family grief day camp

PR/Marketing Volunteer- assist with social media management

Tabling Volunteer- attend tabling events with a Lion's Heart board member to help promote Lion's Heart in the community

Task Volunteer- assist Lion's Heart board with various remote tasks as needed (calling businesses, community research etc)
