Spring 2026 Semester: SLOTS OPEN

Gonzaga Athletes Mentoring for Excellence (GAME) is a group mentoring program that places GU students with middle school youth and using group activities, athletics, and reflection as an avenue for relationship building and skill development. GAME mentors attend weekly programming (Wednesdays 3:30-5:30PM OR Mondays 8-10AM), attend a monthly lunch visit at their assigned school, and participate in Saturday activities once a semester.  GAME is a semester-long commitment for GU students. We encourage mentors to consider committing to the program for longer than one semester, but this is not a requirement.

Spring 2026 Semester: SLOTS OPEN only for Tuesday or Thursday

Join us at Gonzaga Family Haven for a mentoring experience like no other! Engage with school age youth (K-12) after school at the Gonzaga Family Haven, a permanent supportive housing complex. Meet with youth weekly, through the mentoring program on Mondays and participate with youth in engaging and fun activities, while encouraging youth to think positively about their future and gain social skills. Mentors will be attending weekly programming, once a month lunch visits at the youth's schools as well as quarterly Saturday events. Gonzaga Family Haven volunteering is a semester long commitment.

Spring 2026 Semester: SLOTS OPEN

Join us at Rogers High School with Sparks! Engage and support high school students as they navigate and explore college and career possibilities.  Mentors meet with youth at weekly programming to engage in conversations and activities around life skills, academic support and of course, to have fun. This program is heavily youth lead, meaning the Student Leaders ask the youth what they need/want to learn, they create the curriculum and mentors help facilitate it. If you had ever wished that you had the support and guidance from someone close to your age while preparing to enter college, the workforce or military service, this is your time to be that person for a local student. Mentors are expected to attend weekly programming, quarterly Saturday events, as well as monthly GU campus visits for enrolled Rogers students. This is a year long commitment.

North Central Navigators is an after school mentoring program for mainly junior and senior students at North Central High School. This program is a group mentoring program where you help students navigate to their post secondary education goals! If you ever wished you have the advice and guidance of someone close to your age when preparing to enter college, the workforce or military service after high school, this is your chance to be that for a local student!

Spring 2026 Semester: SLOTS OPEN

Connections is a mentoring program that works with middle school students (grades 6-8) from two local Spokane Public Schools. Connections focuses on improving the academic and social success of youth through group mentorship by Gonzaga Students. The program helps youth create a vision for the future and a plan for how that vision can become a reality. Mentors and mentees participate in a variety of academic, recreational, and social activities. All Connections mentors attend weekly programming at their assigned school (either Tuesday OR Thursday from 3:15-5:30pm), attend a lunch visit once a month at their assigned site, and participate in quarterly Saturday activities. This is a year long commitment.

Spring 2026 Semester: SLOTS OPEN

Brainwave Buddies is an art-based creative mentorship program that is designed to bring together students that identify as neurodiverse from both Gonzaga University and Yasuhara Middle School.  It aims to foster a sense of community amongst the students (grades 6-8) through creative-based curriculum that is adaptable to the unique needs of the participants. This program aims to provide students with the support and tools to promote self-advocacy for their own unique needs and strengths, both in and outside of the classroom. Our curriculum also aims to create confidence in post-secondary education and career exploration of students who identify as neurodivergent, through the lived experience of our mentors and student leaders. Mentors will attend weekly programming (Wednesdays 3:00-5:30 PM) at Yasuhara Middle School and a monthly lunch visit. Mentors will also be required to attend a weekly meeting with their student leaders and AmeriCorps to discuss the upcoming activity.

Zag Super Buddies is a small group mentoring and tutoring program that places teams of Gonzaga students with elementary school youth. The program focuses on relationship building and academic concept practice.

Zag Super Buddies is a semester-long commitment.

Group mentor elementary youth weekly and aim to increase their self-esteem through arts, crafts, games, and group activities. 

SMILE is a semester-long commitment once weekly.

Campus Kids is a group mentoring program with 4th and 5th grade youth that focuses on social-emotional learning and college & career readiness.

Campus Kids is a year-long commitment (Fall & Spring within the same school year).
