Who We Are
Inland Northwest Community Gardens provides local access to healthy edible gardening through networking, demonstrations, advocacy, and connecting people to gardens and urban agricultural or sustainability programs. Inland Northwest Community Gardens is a 501(c)3 that umbrellas the Inland Northwest area to help Community Gardens, School Gardens, Youth Gardens, and Service Gardens, in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, Northeastern Oregon, and Far-Western Montana.
What We Do
Inland Northwest Community Gardens (INCG) maintains a list of school, youth, service, and community gardens and other local food network resources; see our website for map of gardens and listings.
INCG actively partners with the WSU Master Gardeners of Spokane County, the Spokane County Master Gardeners Foundation, Gonzaga University, BECU, community gardens, and others to help underserved gardens in Spokane County. This project features garden needs assessments, building or repairing garden infrastructure, and engaging the neighboring community through education classes.
GU Philosophy Professor Dr. Roisin Lally and INCG President Kathleen Callum are partnering to integrate this nonprofit's mission into classroom service learning. As part of this, GU maintains two beds at the Chief Garry Community Garden located on Mission Avenue.
Major organization events include the Spring & Fall Potluck Meetings featuring special guest speakers, resource tables, seed swap, silent auction with garden goodies, networking, and more!
