Who We Are

DCYF is a cabinet-level agency that works to support children, youth, and families. It oversees the state’s child welfare, juvenile rehabilitation, and early care and education programs

What We Do

Our work is focused on prevention and better outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Our primary volunteer opportunity is with our program "Drive with the heart" To do weekly and non-weekly commitments driving foster youth to and from appointments. This is an excellent opportunity for childcare students, child welfare students, social work students to get experience, references, and volunteer hours with DCYF in Washington State.
