Who We Are

You can assist Habitat for Humanity with providing safe, affordable homes for qualifying families. We welcome volunteers at our construction site in Deer Park and at our Spokane Rehabs. No experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome. On-site training is provided. This is a perfect opportunity for small, socially distant service groups. The construction site is open Wed-Sat, with shifts 8:30-12:00, 12:30-4:30 or the full day.

We also welcome volunteers at our Habitat Store, which sells low-cost building materials to the public to provide an increased flow of materials for our construction projects. We will train you! The Habitat Store is open Tue-Sat from 9:00-5:00. Shift times are flexible to suit your schedule. Habitat Store volunteers must submit their application to the Habitat office at least 48 hours prior to their first shift.

What We Do

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane is an ecumenical nonprofit Christian ministry dedicated to bringing the community together to build safe, affordable housing for all God's people in need. Habitat-Spokane is an equal housing opportunity provider and serves qualified families from all walks of life regardless of creed. We partner with community members of Spokane, including other affordable housing providers, ethnic and minority communities and low-income families to raise the standards of housing.

Our goal is to provide hope, stability and dignity for families in partnership while building our community through quality homeownership. Habitat homes are built simply and affordably through partnership with community volunteers and donations. All costs to build the homes are transferred to the family. Community support keeps building expenses low, thus reducing the cost to the family. Habitat is a partnership program offering a hand up rather than a handout to empower Spokane families.

To qualify, eligible families invest 250 partnership hours ,of their own labor in building their homes as well as others. Once completed, the homes are sold to partner families at cost with an affordable mortgage. Habitat for Humanity instills the pride of ownership and fosters the development of positive relationships among neighbors and the community at large. With decent, affordable homeownership, Habitat families create a solid foundation for a brighter future for themselves.
