World Relief is a Christian humanitarian nonprofit that serves refugees and other immigrants welcomed by our government. We offer a variety of services and pathways to help newcomers build community support, as they move from a place of vulnerability to being empowered to flourish in the United States.
Our work depends heavily on volunteer support, with a variety of ways volunteers can be involved. Students serving at World Relief complete an application process and screening, as well as a mandatory online orientation meeting. (This will count toward your total service hours.)
We’re looking for compassionate students to serve 1 or more hours per week:
- Practicing English with refugees
- Caring for children whose parents are engaged in classes through our Education Center.
- Mentoring and tutoring refugee youth engaged in our youth programs
An application and background check will be completed for any short-term volunteer service. One-time volunteer opportunities are also available, omitting the need for the extensive onboarding process, and are best done with groups of people. Donation drives, event support, and advocacy are examples of one-time volunteer opportunities.
For students interested in internship opportunities (10+ hours per week during a semester), more information can be found online at: https://worldreliefspokane.org/internships
